When I found out that one out of every three American servicewomen will be raped by their male counterparts I wrote VOICES – War Crimes USA in disgust. I recall my late wife telling me about the sexual abuse... my research showed a very clear picture of cover-ups, whitewashing and no responsibility at any level. It is pathetic to witness and will lead to defeat against a First World Army.
Then the ICC, International Criminal Court, announced that it will investigate war crimes in Afghanistan. All hell broke loose: The decision caused shockwaves around the world. The “US Patriots” were all shocked and infuriated that the US can be held responsible to international law and treaties. The reaction was one of utter arrogance and not based on whether the crimes in fact happened or not but the idea that the “indispensable nation” can be investigated by a world body like the ICC.
The counter reaction was immediate and furious: “Today, on the eve of September 11th, I want to deliver a clear and unambiguous message on behalf of the President of the United States. The United States will use any means necessary to protect our citizens and those of our allies from unjust prosecution by this illegitimate court. We will not cooperate with the ICC. We will provide no assistance to the ICC. We will not join the ICC. We will let the ICC die on its own. After all, for all intents and purposes, the ICC is already dead to us.” So said John Bolton, US National Security Adviser for Donald Trump, the one that holds dual Israeli and US citizenship and is known as a war mongrel of great notoriety.
As we know now, John Bolton was fired in disgrace on 10 September 2019 by Donald J Trump (even though he claims that he “resigned.”) As Bolton’s entire career was a disaster without precedent he will go down in history as the worst US National Security Adviser ever since the position was created in 1947. Mr Trump had the last word in January 2020: “For a guy who couldn’t get approved for the Ambassador to the UN years ago, couldn’t get approved for anything since, ‘begged’ me for a non-Senate approved job, which I gave him despite many saying ‘Don’t do it, sir’, takes the job, mistakenly says ‘Libyan Model’ on TV, and many more mistakes of judgment, gets fired because frankly, if I listened to him, we would be in World War Six by now, and goes out and IMMEDIATELY writes a nasty & untrue book. All Classified National Security. Who would do this?” The one you appointed, Mr Trump, God knows what hold they have over you.
Nevertheless, the Trump White House loyally backed Bolton, threatening to “...ban ICC judges and prosecutors from entering the United States, sanction their funds in the US financial system and prosecute them in the US criminal system.”
Mike Pompeo, that obese fellow that somehow believes that the Almighty God sent Donald J Trump to save the Jews (Israel), the second worst Secretary of State just slightly behind Hilarious Clinton, went further, at a later stage, to confirm what I just explained, “These visa restrictions may also be used to deter ICC efforts to pursue allied personnel, including Israelis.”
So the US threat was extended to ensure that the ICC will not investigate the US Allies and Israel either. That is a bit odd, Israel? The Jewish State? Why? Israel is not, repeat not, a NATO member and never operated in Afghanistan (officially, that is). So, the only logical conclusion is that the US decided to whitewash whatever war crimes are committed by Israel in the future. It is a most dangerous precedent that will lead to further crimes by all involved. It is a subject on its own and not one based on anti-Semitism but proven facts. If this does not set off alarms in your head, shrieking to the heavens, there is something wrong with you. Have the Trump White House lost their tiny minds?
But now, March 2020, the ICC decided to go ahead with their war crime investigation despite the US threats. The US reaction is vastly amusing. The usual and expected indignation, an indication of guilt: Pompous Mike Pompeo, “This is a truly breathtaking action by an unaccountable political institution, masquerading as a legal body," the statement reads. "It is all the more reckless for this ruling to come just days after the United States signed a historic peace deal on Afghanistan – the best chance for peace in a generation. The United States is not a party to the ICC, and we will take all necessary measures to protect our citizens from this renegade, so-called court. This is yet another reminder of what happens when multilateral bodies lack oversight and responsible leadership, and become instead a vehicle for political vendettas. The ICC has today stumbled into a sorry affirmation of every denunciation made by its harshest critics over the past three decades.”
An honest man will never worry about an investigation. He welcomes it to clear his name as did Mr Trump with Mueller Gate Fiasco (for America, Russia, and Democratic Party). Of course, nothing will come from the ICC investigations. No US soldier or politician will ever be held accountable despite being guilty but you might expect public shaming on a scale never seen before. Mark my words, the US and Western mainstream media will ignore the ICC findings. It is disgusting. And Americans will die because of the war crimes, yes, somewhere a new terrorist is born every time that a war crime is committed or innocents are killed. How stupid can you get?
