I was asked the other day by a friend: “Why do you always blog about the USA? What is this fascination with us?” It is a good question, one asked by many readers and so I will try to explain in a short blog which is more about setting a message in stone, being on the record, as being read. Many will know that my late wife was an American citizen (I claim no such links) and the best type of woman that a great nation can produce. Her list of important things in the world was: “God, America, the USS Ronald Reagan (an aircraft carrier), Ronald Reagan (the President), you Honey, kids!” But let me quote a few things for you to explain my “fascination:”
“In memory of our gallant South African comrades, it is hereby established, as a new policy that at all Retreat Ceremonies held by this Wing, the playing of our National Anthem shall be preceded by playing the introductory bars of the South African National Anthem, 'Die Stem van Suid-Afrika'. All personnel of this Wing will render the same honours to this Anthem as our own.” Commanding Officer of the USAF 18th Fighter-Bomber Wing at the end of the Korean War to honour 2 Squadron, South African Air Force (Taken from Code Name Blue Tang – the dogfight book where we discovered that NATO never had air supremacy in Europe during the 1980s.)
“It was a battle-wise outfit, bold and aggressive against the enemy, and willing to do whatever job was necessary. In fact, after a period of severe day and night fighting, the 6th had in an emergency gone into the line as infantrymen. When the snow stalled their armour they dug in their tanks and used them as artillery to make up for our shortage in heavy guns. Whenever I saw them, I was impressed by the large number of decorations and honours they had earned the hard way. Their attacks against strongly organised German positions were made with great élan and without regard for casualties. Despite their comparatively small numbers, they never complained about losses. Neither did Smuts (the South African Prime Minister, not admired by the Afrikaner), who made it clear that the Union of South Africa intended to do its part in the War – and it most certainly did.” (Taken from Code Name Devorah – where we dealt with armour being used in this theatre and that was interesting, South African armour has more than twice the range of any comparable NATO vehicle and much more.)
“For American readers, there is a small bronze plaque in the Simonstad Naval Base, reminding all that the CSS (Confederate States Ship) Alabama visited there during her war cruise in 1863 under command of the charismatic Raphael Semmes. From this, and one of the Alabama’s officers lay buried there, came an Afrikaner folk song still being sung to this day in schools and other events: “Daar kom die Alabama…” (Afrikaans, There comes the Alabama)” (Taken from Code Name Phantom and several other GMJ Books, the one where we looked at “Red Cell” operations, attacking your own bases to test security.)
So, it is safe to say that for the typical Afrikaner of my age, the USA is not seen as the enemy. We fought together in wars before and did so well enough to be recognised. The GMJ Books, as I state in each and every one, are warnings on what is perceived from the outside, and what is most certainly not reported by mainstream US media outlets, people with a wonderful agenda to assist terrorism from outright murder of a US President to allowing potential terrorists inside their country (see my blogs, I have good reasons to say the above). There is another saying or two which is important: “When America sneezes, the world get flu” and “America is the leader of the free world.”
Right, now that is the links - my late wife, the history between us and our traditional views which may not be what the new South Africa believe in but that part is also discussed in my books in great detail. I am talking about myself and probably many like me. If you say you are the “Leader of The Free World” and you do, every two minutes, you better not be making stupid statements regarding terrorist attacks as “workplace violence” when everyone knows it was not. Or to be found dancing the last tango in Argentine when France, an ally of 200 plus years, are under attack and burning. Or, and this came over very badly, take selfies at Nelson Mandela's funeral acting like a borderline juvenile delinquent. We don’t like disrespect and you may ask “so what? What do your care? What is this to you?”
Let me explain. The GMJ Books are used as training material for SWAT teams and read in Military Academies, they are that well researched. Many myths are exposed and warnings issued, not to humiliate but to say get your house in order. The warnings may read like follows:
“Another myth, if you think America’s, and by America I mean the entire NATO sphere, codes and ciphers cannot be broken by anyone, think again. The ciphers are broken often. See Code Name Odette where we dealt with this aspect, sadly, it got worse since then. The Chinese have super computers available, faster than what the ageing US computers can do, and so does Russia and other countries. Those super computers do not run medical insurance companies, no, they are used for war purposes as are those of the US. Because of this, they now have the ability to break your ciphers and, worse, design better weapons than the US and they are doing so – they can run highly complex simulations and use CAD and they reduce overhead costs dramatically. The average internet speeds are also faster in rural China than in the Midwest, how did that come about? Having said this, I know how the patriotic armchair warriors react to statements like the above. Yes, expect the same old parrot-like fashion denials of those exposed to the US mainstream liars all their lives and unable to look beyond “Made in America” logos. They state without any evidence in history that Chinese (actually anyone else’s) weapons are crap and behind the US Merchants of Death in technology, not to be feared nor respected. I wonder then, why is the US spending 4 times more on defence than the rest of the world? Why? Who and what is scaring you so much that you must overspend like that? The Russians with their crap weapons? The Chinese per chance, with their crap weapons? Let us look at history in what was used in Korea and Vietnam against you as well as in many other places with weapons as good as yours and today better in many fields than what the US Merchants of Death can produce. I warned of this before, see Code Name Lucy where we found that Chinese Aegis air defence destroyers will engage and down any US “stealth” aircraft at 200 plus miles since they are not stealth to begin with. We showed you how they operate, the Chinese Military, step by step and doing everything correctly and by doing so is winning hands down in Sub Saharan Africa, a place that is more important than what you may realise. In Code Name Mel’s Choice, we revealed the massive Chinese airbase in southern Zimbabwe, one that change the strategic setup in southern Africa and in Code Name Ghost, the massive Chinese naval base in Walfish Bay, Namibia. In Code Name Alphabet 32 we showed you how the Chinese are chasing their North Korean counterparts home, taking command for themselves in the above-mentioned countries, anywhere in fact, where they moved in slowly but surely, moving you out. Getting them to leave? Well, without a major war that is a forlorn thought and if you still think that the US has the so-called QME or Qualitative Military Edge Doctrine as is claimed by the mainstream liars, Congress, the Senate and the man on the moon, wake up and read Code Name Blue Tang and note who has the best short-range and soon medium-range air-to-air missile in the world... the DENEL V3E Agile Darter, not you, South Africa. See Code Name Alphabet 32 on who has the best anti-tank missile in the world... the DENEL Makopa ZT6, not you, South Africa and so I can continue since South Africa (as a BRICS Pact Nation) is selling that technology not to you but your enemies. As it is today in 2017, the Russians have the best air-to-surface missile system in the S-300 & S-400 (being sold to Iran and China) and best tank, the T-14 Armata. This tank is by all accounts a generation ahead in terms of defensive technology and will shoot out any Western tank it encounters (being sold to Egypt, China and India). If all the above sounds horrible to you, I am glad, wake up and do some research and start worrying instead of making idiotic super patriotic utterances. You have every reason in the book to be grim faced on what I just said. Shockingly, the US never had their so-called QME and most certainly don’t have it now, face facts and do something about it before it is too late. I am also on record in many GMJ Books that the vaunted Israeli Army lost its discipline, it is going to cost them severely in the next war and that is one country that cannot afford to lose a war, they will be wiped out to the last child. There will be no mercy.
A lack of true and verified intelligence will kill you in war... and peacetime if close to my future wife and soul, Angelique Dawson. With her you better be wide awake as she will not draw lines on the sand for the world to jeer at, no, she will react and react violently which is to say effectively in ending a threat. That is the only way in war and peace, you cannot be hesitant in acting but then again you cannot act effectively without intelligence showing you where to act, you must know exactly what to attack and you don’t, you seem clueless and worse, not even caring about that perception. That is why the US drone strikes are not surgical at all, they miss their intended target 96.5% of the time! Think about that and other suppressed by the mainstream liars’ statistic, 2 innocents are murdered for every 1 terrorist, do you call that surgical? You must be insane if you do and yet it is not the fault of the pilot releasing the missiles, they strike what they are aimed at, but the fault of the intelligence community unable to say what to hit when. That is where the entire problem lays, a lack of intelligence because the US IC (Intelligence Community) is in no way effective and not rated highly in my world, they have poor results and is generally seen as a failure. All they do well is spend money, write fake reports and show much technical expertise but none of the above is conducive to winning wars or preventing homeland attacks, I must ask, when last did the US Military win a war? The First Gulf War of 1991? And how can you blame the foot soldier, the grunt, walking around and used as live bait by terrorists for this? In a one-on-one encounter the terrorist will lose the fight every time but as North Vietnamese commissar Le Duc Tho said: “That is true, and it is irrelevant.” We also know that General Giap, the North Vietnamese commander, stated that even if the US Military kill 10 Vietnamese for every US casualty, he will still win the war and he did succeed in taking South Vietnam after the US went home, he won in the end even if not against the US as such but South Vietnam. Could it have been different? Well, let us look at history. In 1972 US airpower stopped a conventional North Vietnamese invasion in its tracks. In 1975, there was no US airpower committed to defend the new invasion based on Soviet Doctrine of surrounding their armour with surface-to-air missile and anti-aircraft batteries (same as we saw in the Yom Kippur War in 1973, the Israeli Air Force took unsustainable losses, only American assistance saved the Jewish State, Angelique). The South Vietnamese pleaded for help to no avail, Demorat (we call the Democrats “Demorats” or “Dramarats” in GMJ Books, they don’t like that) Senators & Congressmen blocked all ideas in helping South Vietnam, the invasion succeeded, North Vietnam took Saigon and that was that, the myth that America lost the Vietnam War became liberal fact even when untrue (see Code Name Green 41 where we discussed many more Vietnam myths, Angelique). (Taken from Code Name One Alpha, the upcoming GMJ Book on CSAR – Combat Search and Rescue – not edited.)
I can and do give numerous examples as the few above highlighted. If you read the Intelligence Briefing, free on the website with 3 other GMJ Books, you will read many more hard facts that will make you sit upright in shock in what an “African” country did and can do as well as what is happening right now. Let me quote from Code Name Alphabet 32, a book on how to launch precision air strikes without killing innocents:
“Special Forces are supposed to be surgical strike capable because of their ability to mark targets for air and artillery strikes (see Code Name Anika how this is done in our world, Angelique). This gives the president a very valuable option to eliminate the targets, not murder kids and women by mistake, but it all comes down to being close enough to identify the target. Good, solid, intelligence then and what the West seems to be unable to do wherever they are conducting operations. Nor do they have the capability to check afterwards who were killed which is a major problem. Yet, as I said, this is what Special Forces and spies are created to do, not to drive around senselessly in lightly armoured, non-mine protected Humvees to be shot at. God knows what is wrong with US Generals if they cannot see this aspect, their greatest asset, Special Forces, are wasted needlessly. No wonder defeat is once again staring at them and with that, the end of American prestige in the world. The word “incompetence” and the Pentagon is practically indistinguishable in our world, sadly so. Men and women are dying because of this and it is no use denying what is obvious. But then, we read the David Petraeus FM 3-24 Counterinsurgency Manual when it came out first to great fanfare and we found nothing new in it. Same old obsolete Western Military thinking, known since the 1970s, looking at the British and French efforts (only 50 years out of date by then). Our own more recent spectacular successes in Angola and elsewhere were not even looked at in this manual, nothing, not a word was said. Yet, we hold a 1,000 to 1 enemy killing rate against the best the Soviet Union could do for 18 years. Rhodesia, that great learning school for counter insurgency I speak about so often to you? Not even mentioned once, yep, nothing, not a single word, go and research it. About the so called British and Australian contribution in counter insurgency, well, the less said the better, we don’t rate them highly at all. Africa is where Al-Qaeda is hiding and where he needs to be found and taken out, the place is going to be important to you. Then ask yourself, why are my books translated to Chinese unlawfully and read at Eastern Military Academies?
What may be equally shocking to you is that we rate General Petraeus far below Stanley McChrystal in counter insurgency / counter terrorism and the idea that David Petraeus is the world’s greatest counter insurgency expert as claimed, is plainly laughable to me, he is not even close to the top hundred general officers. His “surge” achieved nothing lasting and what may be even more shocking to you, Barack Obama was correct in withdrawing the troops when he did, there is no reason why US conventional troops should be doing what Iraqis and Afghanis should be doing themselves (with respect towards President Lyndon B Johnson’s quote on South Vietnam). I also state, based on my many years of experience, that conventional troops are close to useless in counter insurgency and totally useless in counter terrorism. The only US general that I know about that actually comprehends the proper use of Special Forces, is General Stanley McChrystal, not a Special Forces rated officer.” (Taken from Code Name Alphabet 32 and other GMJ Books.)
I always go into history to show you what happens today. It was US President Roosevelt that explained lend-lease as: “Suppose my neighbor’s home catches fire, and I have a length of garden hose four or five hundred feet away. If he can take my garden hose and connect it up with his hydrant, I may help him to put out his fire. Now, what do I do? I don’t say to him before that operation, “Neighbor, my garden hose cost me $15; you have to pay me $15 for it.” What is the transaction that goes on? I don’t want $15—I want my garden hose back after the fire is over. All right. If it goes through the fire all right, intact, without any damage to it, he gives it back to me and thanks me very much for the use of it. But suppose it gets smashed up—holes in it—during the fire; we don’t have to have too much formality about it, but I say to him, “I was glad to lend you that hose; I see I can’t use it any more, it’s all smashed up.” He says, “How many feet of it were there?” I tell him, “There were 150 feet of it.” He says, “All right, I will replace it.” Now, if I get a nice garden hose back, I am in pretty good shape.” (March 1941.)
The above is the entire point of the GMJ Books, to help, to assist and why 10% are free of charge. It is my duty to help, to warn, and to even shout at times. If something is not right, then it is wrong and you don’t even know it. But be warned, a horse cannot be made to drink water, I cannot make you take note nor listen, that is your decision, not mine. I am not on fire here, you are. GMJ
George M James is a pseudo name for the author and used for security reasons and the safety of his family. He is an expert on counterterrorism and counterinsurgency operations in sub-Saharan Africa, a military historian and published author of 47 books. In the GMJ Series, you will learn about Covert Operations, Special Forces techniques, current political analyses and military history not known outside the select few. Because of the contents and startling disclosures inside GMJ Books, some authorities call them “dangerous fiction.” Yet, every GMJ Book is based on historical fact and often what is revealed in a GMJ Book is published by the mainstream media a short while later. Many of the GMJ Books are used as training material by Police Forces (SWAT) across the world. Each GMJ Book has a large element of the truth inside it, they are well researched. They are not only good reading material but also a warning against that what is not known to the public. The GMJ Books may very well change the way you look at counterterrorism and espionage for the better. George M James’s books, both under his real name and as GMJ, are widely read among military veterans of many nations, most find them very agreeable to their conservative views.
