After I wrote the previous blog on explaining the complex relationship between the Afrikaner, my tribe, and the USA (When the Beacon of Freedom is on Fire) I was asked a good question by someone I trust: “Since in your opinion there is not one well trained group, military etc. in the US, then why are we still standing as a strong nation and no one has come on and just taken over?”
Let me clarify first. I said in many of my books that statistics show me that the Green Berets (Delta excluded) as well as the US Navy SEALs (Team Six excluded) are low percentage units with a Selection failure rate of 65% and 80% respectively - that is lower than our own 90% – 95%, period and not good enough. This means in practise that if you should bring 10 of your SEALs and 10 of your Green Berets... when we have finished the South African Army Special Forces Selection course, all 10 of ours will still be there and so will 6 Green Berets and 8 SEALs. What does that tell you about standards? They are too low and the time will come when those men that made it will not cope and let their mates down, simple facts, they should not be there. Then, I do not respect US Police SWAT teams (not even the FBI HRT), I find them mostly Mickey Mouse in training, selection and operational procedure. Any SWAT team waiting 4 hours to move in on a lone terrorist inside a night club, is pathetic and I can show many other such examples too. The same goes for the US Secret Service and the Clinton Whitewash Bureau (FBI to you) that had an acknowledged leaker as Director, my word, no further comment is even needed but it is discussed in various GMJ Books why I have the above views, with examples. Then I often write on perception, where I said a line drawn in the sand without a Marine Division behind it, is just that, a line in the sand and a joke. But let us look at things from what we do know to be facts and kindly remember, when it comes to counter insurgency and counter terrorism, urban and rural, I know enough to be classified as an expert, my non-fiction books on this subject is respected and widely read, my opinion is valued. I have a few questions of my own, which will clarify my views, I hope, and I am not going to give answers although I know the answers as well as anyone reading here, they are in my books or widely available:
Who appointed America as policeman of the world? Show me your mandate from the UN to illegally overthrow more than 60 nations with CIA help. Show me where you have any legal right to attack other nations at will with your military.
Show me your track record wherever you have intervened, mostly illegally so. Show me your successes if any, and explain to me Vietnam and Iraq. Tell me why both those wars, costing hundreds of thousands of lives, started off on fake reason – the Gulf of Tonkin incident that never actually happened, and the Iraqi “weapons of mass destruction” fear that never actually existed?
Where have you ever not run away for home and leaving chaos behind? Showing to the world that if you suffer a few casualties, your Democrats will start abusing your servicemen and your President even where they voted for their war in the first place. And then you withdraw, running for home, yet another defeat.
Where have your trained militias not broke and run away? Wherever they face those opposing them and you, they run away. It is a standing joke for us from Afghanistan to Chechia and before that, Vietnam.
Explain to me Syria. What are you doing in Syria? A place where you are illegally under international law acting as pirates and criminals from a legal viewpoint. At the same time, why are we still not shown any impartial evidence of Sarin gas use by the Assad Government that led to the failed, yes failed, April 2017 cruise missile attack – an act of war, by the way, and the Assad Government (not regime) is the legal UN recognised government of that country. What will you do when Russia shoots your aircraft down which can easily happen since they, not you, have the best SAM systems in the world deployed there? You don’t have any QME (Qualitative Military Edge or technological advance) left. It is a myth as you would know if you bother to read my books, books which I invite you to research factually. You are lacking almost everywhere in military technology and yet you believe your own Merchants of Death, read my books why I say so.
Explain to me Libya, a country that paid compensation for the Lockerbie bomb and became an ally in the War on Terror, yet to be attacked and today, what do we have? A country in chaos creating terrorists to kill you. What message does this send out when you attack and destroy an ally and all in the name of what? Counter Terrorism? Freedom? Democracy? What? Read Code Name Anika to see what damage Hillary R Clinton did to the War on Terror by killing Gadhafi.
Tell me, how many terrorists are you creating with a 96.5% failure rate in drone strikes, those that you are so proud about? Do you know that every time that you murder, not kill, murder, 2 civilians, women and children, for every terrorist you kill, you create a new one willing to kill you in return in your homeland? This is the most pathetic counter terrorism record in the history of warfare, period. You are losing!
Explain to me the Pentagon’s outright lies. In my books, I exposed so many that it is now common knowledge that a US Military Officer is no gentleman, he cannot speak the truth and for what reason? Fear? Shenanigans? Dishonourable behaviour? What? What message is send out when such lies are exposed in the media as they are.
Explain to me why Bill Clinton attacked a medicine factory with cruise missiles, hitting nothing, but doing so to get attention away from Monica Lewinsky, and then think we are too stupid to see this.
I can ask you hundreds of the above questions and they are all discussed in my books, these are historical facts, not fiction. They are asked every single day of those recruiting new terrorists to attack you wherever they can find you. Perception is not only important in counter terrorism, it is everything. I mentioned this in my books numerous times. I use the example of a Barrack Obama hastily drawing a line and a mean looking Vladimir Putin on a judo mat, black belt, waiting to pounce. Who do you think is respected most even if by fear as you say? Do you know that NATO admitted that Russia can overrun them in a few days? Do you know that NATO admitted that the Russian Air Force did more in a few months in Syria than what the USAF and their mates could do in years? Yes, research, facts, they said that officially and yet, no one else is seeing Russia wanting to attack Europe except the warmongers still living in the Cold War but then again, I explain the real reasons in my Intelligence Briefing, a briefing which is so important that it is free of charge on my website and in many books. Download it and see why I am saying what I am saying.
To answer you, why you are still standing? In a few words, you are damn lucky. You only attack weaker nations with your low percentage military, never a Super Power or First World able to counter attack you, from them you stay far away and your bluff is called, every time. Which brings me back to the first question, who appointed you as policeman of the world? What makes you say that you are the leader of the free world and then, when we look to you for leadership, we find the above disasters? Let there be no doubt, if you dare to attack your own size, Russia, China, even us on a limited scale, the war will come home and in my opinion, you will lose such a war rather badly. The cruise missiles will strike you from all sides and you will experience what you meted out and no, you obese citizens with their AR-15s will not, never, stop armour or professional soldiers with air superiority. If you care to read my books, and the Intelligence Briefing, you will note that you are already surrounded, your sea routes can be cut instantly and will be. You exist because you attack the right people, like a bully, taking on those that can only respond by terrorism and not conventional war. You want to play the “good guys, please love us” and yet, what is there to love when you act like you do?
I discussed this very aspect in several books, Code Name Ghost is one, I think, because in counter terrorism it is about perception as I said before. You cannot in this day and age, of mass communication, be caught out as saying one thing and doing another. You are as a nation hated in certain parts of the world, and yet, there was a time, when you were loved. There was a time, a long time, when your inherent goodness came out to the fore and you could claim the moral victory for standing up for what is good and decent. Now where are you? Self-destructing with a mainstream media hell-bound to destroy an elected President with constant lies being published as facts. What message does this send to us, about whom you claim to be “the leader of the free world.” If you want that title, self-acclaimed as is, then expect to be looked at critically. Don’t be surprised or hurt or defensive when you find men like me saying: “Hey, wake up! Look at the facts, you are not as wonderful as you think, be warned, you are heading for disaster. Smell the coffee before it is too late!” And I know many see this as being anti-American, whatever, yet many more do not, they see the value of mistakes being pointed out, of warnings delivered even if ignored. Sometimes I feel like Winston Churchill in the 1930s, not listened to and unlike Sir Winston, I will never be asked to sort the mess created since the 1990s out. Note, the world is fed-up with America and you are living on borrowed time unless you get your act sorted out. Simply put, your Military is not good enough to cash the pay checks your politicians are writing, it worries me. I have no desire to see you humiliated further as you are now. I remember what you once were, the beacon of freedom.
I was asked the other day by a friend: “Why do you always blog about the USA? What is this fascination with us?” It is a good question, one asked by many readers and so I will try to explain in a short blog which is more about setting a message in stone, being on the record, as being read. Many will know that my late wife was an American citizen (I claim no such links) and the best type of woman that a great nation can produce. Her list of important things in the world was: “God, America, the USS Ronald Reagan (an aircraft carrier), Ronald Reagan (the President), you Honey, kids!” But let me quote a few things for you to explain my “fascination:”
“In memory of our gallant South African comrades, it is hereby established, as a new policy that at all Retreat Ceremonies held by this Wing, the playing of our National Anthem shall be preceded by playing the introductory bars of the South African National Anthem, 'Die Stem van Suid-Afrika'. All personnel of this Wing will render the same honours to this Anthem as our own.” Commanding Officer of the USAF 18th Fighter-Bomber Wing at the end of the Korean War to honour 2 Squadron, South African Air Force (Taken from Code Name Blue Tang – the dogfight book where we discovered that NATO never had air supremacy in Europe during the 1980s.)
“It was a battle-wise outfit, bold and aggressive against the enemy, and willing to do whatever job was necessary. In fact, after a period of severe day and night fighting, the 6th had in an emergency gone into the line as infantrymen. When the snow stalled their armour they dug in their tanks and used them as artillery to make up for our shortage in heavy guns. Whenever I saw them, I was impressed by the large number of decorations and honours they had earned the hard way. Their attacks against strongly organised German positions were made with great élan and without regard for casualties. Despite their comparatively small numbers, they never complained about losses. Neither did Smuts (the South African Prime Minister, not admired by the Afrikaner), who made it clear that the Union of South Africa intended to do its part in the War – and it most certainly did.” (Taken from Code Name Devorah – where we dealt with armour being used in this theatre and that was interesting, South African armour has more than twice the range of any comparable NATO vehicle and much more.)
“For American readers, there is a small bronze plaque in the Simonstad Naval Base, reminding all that the CSS (Confederate States Ship) Alabama visited there during her war cruise in 1863 under command of the charismatic Raphael Semmes. From this, and one of the Alabama’s officers lay buried there, came an Afrikaner folk song still being sung to this day in schools and other events: “Daar kom die Alabama…” (Afrikaans, There comes the Alabama)” (Taken from Code Name Phantom and several other GMJ Books, the one where we looked at “Red Cell” operations, attacking your own bases to test security.)
So, it is safe to say that for the typical Afrikaner of my age, the USA is not seen as the enemy. We fought together in wars before and did so well enough to be recognised. The GMJ Books, as I state in each and every one, are warnings on what is perceived from the outside, and what is most certainly not reported by mainstream US media outlets, people with a wonderful agenda to assist terrorism from outright murder of a US President to allowing potential terrorists inside their country (see my blogs, I have good reasons to say the above). There is another saying or two which is important: “When America sneezes, the world get flu” and “America is the leader of the free world.”
Right, now that is the links - my late wife, the history between us and our traditional views which may not be what the new South Africa believe in but that part is also discussed in my books in great detail. I am talking about myself and probably many like me. If you say you are the “Leader of The Free World” and you do, every two minutes, you better not be making stupid statements regarding terrorist attacks as “workplace violence” when everyone knows it was not. Or to be found dancing the last tango in Argentine when France, an ally of 200 plus years, are under attack and burning. Or, and this came over very badly, take selfies at Nelson Mandela's funeral acting like a borderline juvenile delinquent. We don’t like disrespect and you may ask “so what? What do your care? What is this to you?”
Let me explain. The GMJ Books are used as training material for SWAT teams and read in Military Academies, they are that well researched. Many myths are exposed and warnings issued, not to humiliate but to say get your house in order. The warnings may read like follows:
“Another myth, if you think America’s, and by America I mean the entire NATO sphere, codes and ciphers cannot be broken by anyone, think again. The ciphers are broken often. See Code Name Odette where we dealt with this aspect, sadly, it got worse since then. The Chinese have super computers available, faster than what the ageing US computers can do, and so does Russia and other countries. Those super computers do not run medical insurance companies, no, they are used for war purposes as are those of the US. Because of this, they now have the ability to break your ciphers and, worse, design better weapons than the US and they are doing so – they can run highly complex simulations and use CAD and they reduce overhead costs dramatically. The average internet speeds are also faster in rural China than in the Midwest, how did that come about? Having said this, I know how the patriotic armchair warriors react to statements like the above. Yes, expect the same old parrot-like fashion denials of those exposed to the US mainstream liars all their lives and unable to look beyond “Made in America” logos. They state without any evidence in history that Chinese (actually anyone else’s) weapons are crap and behind the US Merchants of Death in technology, not to be feared nor respected. I wonder then, why is the US spending 4 times more on defence than the rest of the world? Why? Who and what is scaring you so much that you must overspend like that? The Russians with their crap weapons? The Chinese per chance, with their crap weapons? Let us look at history in what was used in Korea and Vietnam against you as well as in many other places with weapons as good as yours and today better in many fields than what the US Merchants of Death can produce. I warned of this before, see Code Name Lucy where we found that Chinese Aegis air defence destroyers will engage and down any US “stealth” aircraft at 200 plus miles since they are not stealth to begin with. We showed you how they operate, the Chinese Military, step by step and doing everything correctly and by doing so is winning hands down in Sub Saharan Africa, a place that is more important than what you may realise. In Code Name Mel’s Choice, we revealed the massive Chinese airbase in southern Zimbabwe, one that change the strategic setup in southern Africa and in Code Name Ghost, the massive Chinese naval base in Walfish Bay, Namibia. In Code Name Alphabet 32 we showed you how the Chinese are chasing their North Korean counterparts home, taking command for themselves in the above-mentioned countries, anywhere in fact, where they moved in slowly but surely, moving you out. Getting them to leave? Well, without a major war that is a forlorn thought and if you still think that the US has the so-called QME or Qualitative Military Edge Doctrine as is claimed by the mainstream liars, Congress, the Senate and the man on the moon, wake up and read Code Name Blue Tang and note who has the best short-range and soon medium-range air-to-air missile in the world... the DENEL V3E Agile Darter, not you, South Africa. See Code Name Alphabet 32 on who has the best anti-tank missile in the world... the DENEL Makopa ZT6, not you, South Africa and so I can continue since South Africa (as a BRICS Pact Nation) is selling that technology not to you but your enemies. As it is today in 2017, the Russians have the best air-to-surface missile system in the S-300 & S-400 (being sold to Iran and China) and best tank, the T-14 Armata. This tank is by all accounts a generation ahead in terms of defensive technology and will shoot out any Western tank it encounters (being sold to Egypt, China and India). If all the above sounds horrible to you, I am glad, wake up and do some research and start worrying instead of making idiotic super patriotic utterances. You have every reason in the book to be grim faced on what I just said. Shockingly, the US never had their so-called QME and most certainly don’t have it now, face facts and do something about it before it is too late. I am also on record in many GMJ Books that the vaunted Israeli Army lost its discipline, it is going to cost them severely in the next war and that is one country that cannot afford to lose a war, they will be wiped out to the last child. There will be no mercy.
A lack of true and verified intelligence will kill you in war... and peacetime if close to my future wife and soul, Angelique Dawson. With her you better be wide awake as she will not draw lines on the sand for the world to jeer at, no, she will react and react violently which is to say effectively in ending a threat. That is the only way in war and peace, you cannot be hesitant in acting but then again you cannot act effectively without intelligence showing you where to act, you must know exactly what to attack and you don’t, you seem clueless and worse, not even caring about that perception. That is why the US drone strikes are not surgical at all, they miss their intended target 96.5% of the time! Think about that and other suppressed by the mainstream liars’ statistic, 2 innocents are murdered for every 1 terrorist, do you call that surgical? You must be insane if you do and yet it is not the fault of the pilot releasing the missiles, they strike what they are aimed at, but the fault of the intelligence community unable to say what to hit when. That is where the entire problem lays, a lack of intelligence because the US IC (Intelligence Community) is in no way effective and not rated highly in my world, they have poor results and is generally seen as a failure. All they do well is spend money, write fake reports and show much technical expertise but none of the above is conducive to winning wars or preventing homeland attacks, I must ask, when last did the US Military win a war? The First Gulf War of 1991? And how can you blame the foot soldier, the grunt, walking around and used as live bait by terrorists for this? In a one-on-one encounter the terrorist will lose the fight every time but as North Vietnamese commissar Le Duc Tho said: “That is true, and it is irrelevant.” We also know that General Giap, the North Vietnamese commander, stated that even if the US Military kill 10 Vietnamese for every US casualty, he will still win the war and he did succeed in taking South Vietnam after the US went home, he won in the end even if not against the US as such but South Vietnam. Could it have been different? Well, let us look at history. In 1972 US airpower stopped a conventional North Vietnamese invasion in its tracks. In 1975, there was no US airpower committed to defend the new invasion based on Soviet Doctrine of surrounding their armour with surface-to-air missile and anti-aircraft batteries (same as we saw in the Yom Kippur War in 1973, the Israeli Air Force took unsustainable losses, only American assistance saved the Jewish State, Angelique). The South Vietnamese pleaded for help to no avail, Demorat (we call the Democrats “Demorats” or “Dramarats” in GMJ Books, they don’t like that) Senators & Congressmen blocked all ideas in helping South Vietnam, the invasion succeeded, North Vietnam took Saigon and that was that, the myth that America lost the Vietnam War became liberal fact even when untrue (see Code Name Green 41 where we discussed many more Vietnam myths, Angelique). (Taken from Code Name One Alpha, the upcoming GMJ Book on CSAR – Combat Search and Rescue – not edited.)
I can and do give numerous examples as the few above highlighted. If you read the Intelligence Briefing, free on the website with 3 other GMJ Books, you will read many more hard facts that will make you sit upright in shock in what an “African” country did and can do as well as what is happening right now. Let me quote from Code Name Alphabet 32, a book on how to launch precision air strikes without killing innocents:
“Special Forces are supposed to be surgical strike capable because of their ability to mark targets for air and artillery strikes (see Code Name Anika how this is done in our world, Angelique). This gives the president a very valuable option to eliminate the targets, not murder kids and women by mistake, but it all comes down to being close enough to identify the target. Good, solid, intelligence then and what the West seems to be unable to do wherever they are conducting operations. Nor do they have the capability to check afterwards who were killed which is a major problem. Yet, as I said, this is what Special Forces and spies are created to do, not to drive around senselessly in lightly armoured, non-mine protected Humvees to be shot at. God knows what is wrong with US Generals if they cannot see this aspect, their greatest asset, Special Forces, are wasted needlessly. No wonder defeat is once again staring at them and with that, the end of American prestige in the world. The word “incompetence” and the Pentagon is practically indistinguishable in our world, sadly so. Men and women are dying because of this and it is no use denying what is obvious. But then, we read the David Petraeus FM 3-24 Counterinsurgency Manual when it came out first to great fanfare and we found nothing new in it. Same old obsolete Western Military thinking, known since the 1970s, looking at the British and French efforts (only 50 years out of date by then). Our own more recent spectacular successes in Angola and elsewhere were not even looked at in this manual, nothing, not a word was said. Yet, we hold a 1,000 to 1 enemy killing rate against the best the Soviet Union could do for 18 years. Rhodesia, that great learning school for counter insurgency I speak about so often to you? Not even mentioned once, yep, nothing, not a single word, go and research it. About the so called British and Australian contribution in counter insurgency, well, the less said the better, we don’t rate them highly at all. Africa is where Al-Qaeda is hiding and where he needs to be found and taken out, the place is going to be important to you. Then ask yourself, why are my books translated to Chinese unlawfully and read at Eastern Military Academies?
What may be equally shocking to you is that we rate General Petraeus far below Stanley McChrystal in counter insurgency / counter terrorism and the idea that David Petraeus is the world’s greatest counter insurgency expert as claimed, is plainly laughable to me, he is not even close to the top hundred general officers. His “surge” achieved nothing lasting and what may be even more shocking to you, Barack Obama was correct in withdrawing the troops when he did, there is no reason why US conventional troops should be doing what Iraqis and Afghanis should be doing themselves (with respect towards President Lyndon B Johnson’s quote on South Vietnam). I also state, based on my many years of experience, that conventional troops are close to useless in counter insurgency and totally useless in counter terrorism. The only US general that I know about that actually comprehends the proper use of Special Forces, is General Stanley McChrystal, not a Special Forces rated officer.” (Taken from Code Name Alphabet 32 and other GMJ Books.)
I always go into history to show you what happens today. It was US President Roosevelt that explained lend-lease as: “Suppose my neighbor’s home catches fire, and I have a length of garden hose four or five hundred feet away. If he can take my garden hose and connect it up with his hydrant, I may help him to put out his fire. Now, what do I do? I don’t say to him before that operation, “Neighbor, my garden hose cost me $15; you have to pay me $15 for it.” What is the transaction that goes on? I don’t want $15—I want my garden hose back after the fire is over. All right. If it goes through the fire all right, intact, without any damage to it, he gives it back to me and thanks me very much for the use of it. But suppose it gets smashed up—holes in it—during the fire; we don’t have to have too much formality about it, but I say to him, “I was glad to lend you that hose; I see I can’t use it any more, it’s all smashed up.” He says, “How many feet of it were there?” I tell him, “There were 150 feet of it.” He says, “All right, I will replace it.” Now, if I get a nice garden hose back, I am in pretty good shape.” (March 1941.)
The above is the entire point of the GMJ Books, to help, to assist and why 10% are free of charge. It is my duty to help, to warn, and to even shout at times. If something is not right, then it is wrong and you don’t even know it. But be warned, a horse cannot be made to drink water, I cannot make you take note nor listen, that is your decision, not mine. I am not on fire here, you are. GMJ
The Trump Administration is riddled with leaks, why? Well, it seems that a culture of leaks is prevalent in the US, it is actively promoted by mainstream media as a “good thing” and the “right thing to do” and this is dangerous for everyone. You may like to read juicy information in the newspapers of hear the latest fake news from CNN & NYT and WP (see the CIA link on all of them in Code Name Jen) but you must ask, where did they get that what they sprout so often? Fact is, it is easy. You will always find the weak fellow wanting to share what he knows, read or heard with the newspaper people (I hesitate in calling them “journalists” because they will never pass that bar these days). The leaker is actively encouraged to betray his country, the trust placed in him and his colleagues not falling for such shenanigans and it is done... why? Party politics from people that should be above such things? A dislike in the democratic system? Revenge for a lost presidential election? To feel accepted or just for the hell of it? Money? Fame? All the above and an entirely wrong idea on what patriotism is. They actually think they are doing good and there are many of them, way too many.
There is more than one million people in the US Government holding a security clearance. With that kind of numbers, leaks are guaranteed and it is something that used to be a no-go area... if caught leaking sensitive information, intelligence or classified material, you would have been prosecuted unless of course you are Hilarious Clinton (we call the former senator, former secretary of state and loser twice for the presidency, “Hilarious” in our books). The problem comes in when some pigs are more equal than others, where prosecution is done based on who the culprit is and by the way, the Obama Administration brought more leak cases to court than all his predecessors combined, another mainstream media myth that this never happened before. The question is against whom? Who was prosecuted? Certainly not the famous turds (what we call politicians in our books, they float in what they talk). “They may have down to a certainty who the leaker was, but if the leaker was a senator or congressman there is this reticence by DOJ to bring this,” Ron Hosko, a former assistant FBI director on leaks, recently. What a censure is that, just terrible. Now we know why Hilarious got away with her email server scandal where tens of thousands of leaks too place. We also lost all respect for the Clinton Federal White Wash Bureau and one James Comey.
I was asked the other day how to stop intelligence and other leaks, what needs to be done? I can write entire books on this subject but let us see what I wrote already. In Code Name Ghost, GMJ 31, I explained what is used commonly in counter espionage to find leaks: -
... Barium (Ba) has an atomic number of 56 and is a silvery-white metallic element. The learned folk will tell you it is a member of the alkaline-earth metals, whatever that means. Sir Humphry Davy discovered barium in 1808 already but before that it was widely used in witchcraft, it glows and hence was seen as magic by primitive people. In more recent times, California got themselves an official gemstone, the fluorescent blue mineral benitoite, containing barium. It is primarily used in the production of television sets but that was not what she meant. In espionage, a “barium meal” has an entirely different meaning.
The technique is standard with all counter espionage agencies but first came to fore in the book “Spycatcher” by Peter Wright, a former MI5 officer, hiding in Australia. The idea is to trap spies by checking to see if intelligence known to a select few, turns up on the other side and then to deduct who leaked it. It is also known as a “canary trap” (an advanced version, yes, Angelique) where you hide information in a document that uniquely identifies it. That means that copies of it can be traced and traced back to whoever had that unique document, sometimes they use a number on it, or a mark, or spelling mistake on whatever page. (We often do this with GMJ Books, noting where the illegal copy came from originally. There is nothing new about it, the counter espionage technique found its way into the publishing world, a deliberate mistake is made on say page 41 and a direct copy will have the same mistake at the same place and page, impossible to explain. Telephone books always have among the millions of numbers, a few fake ones, and so you can prove beyond doubt that copyright was infringed, Angelique). What she did here, was to deliberately give information out on the whereabouts of the SAS Manthatisi and herself and see if someone turns up. If and when the enemy turn up where they should not, you can be sure to know who knew about it and start your investigation there – in this case only three people knew – the South African Navy’s Flag Captain, the commanding officer of the SAS Isandlwana and Liam Dube himself (see Code Name Oath 19). One of them was reporting the movements of the submarine and it could not have been Liam Dube, he was on the submarine heading to danger. He was also underwater and not transmitting anything, we know, we were on the submarine with him. That left the flag captain and the Isandlwana’s boss, I could not believe my ears, surely not them. However, as you know, it is those that you trust most that bites you in the ass the quickest.
“Yes, and that is why I diverted the SAS Manthatisi away from Walvis Bay once we dived, towards the intelligence ship wreck, to search her, it had to be done anyway. I needed to know who she belonged to and I wanted to recover the Werz Papers that I heard was on her, wrongly as it turned out. The question is, did the Chinese go on a heightened state of awareness at Walvis Bay? If the submarine’s destination was leaked, they should have reacted and if they did, we would know who to ask why. Of course, that would have increased the risk against Liam Dube too and so, we went the other way, you get?”
All militaries are secretive in what they do. Often, what you read is what is leaked to the mainstream liars to publish, to reassure the public or to send a message to the enemy. The Soviets, Russians, call the last part a “maskirovka” or deception and they firmly believe in it. We too, a maskirovka was used with great success during Code Name Phoenix, ensuring that the gun battle between the EBS (Egg Breaker Ship – an internal joke, Angelique) Orlando and the South African frigate, SAS Amatola, takes place. (We spread rumours at the right places to ensure that the ship is “blown” as a mothership, a spy vessel, the frigate came to investigate and when in gun range, Foxtrot and company opened up, the rest is history, Angelique.) ... (Taken from Code Name Ghost.)
What you saw above was deliberate leaking of wrong information and also to very specific people, if anything then is published with that same story or there is an enemy reaction, you know, a process of elimination then, as well as access, who could have known? You can also use leaks offensively in espionage, as explained in the last paragraph and used during Code Name Phoenix, getting people to react in the way you wish them to do but it all starts with not entrusting the entire world to your secrets. There are way too many with security clearances, simple. And then storage, protecting the secrets. I often explain in GMJ Books how the we get to the book names, a code, all of them, and how such codes are worked out and how secrets should be stored: -
... Military code names have nothing in common with the actual operation taking place. It should not and it is silly to expect the name to mean anything or indicate anything in particular. Therefore, none of the GMJ Books have a name from which you can deduct the contents of the book and that is not by chance, it is written like that, it should be a hidden code, known only to those directly involved. But the code names used always had something to do with Angelique Dawson and it was always fascinating to me how she got to them. Unlike many other espionage agencies, no computer generates the code names at random in the South African Secret Service. They do so themselves and see if someone can guess what it means, if so, it is changed immediately. I like this system; it is fool proof. As an example - I have seen them sit at a pizza shop, look around, and decide the (entirely innocent) waiter is called whatever, and that “whatever” becomes the new code name. Unless you are there, you would never guess and that is the essence of a good code name, never to guess accurately the intentions behind it. Sometimes they even had personal code names referring to the official code name, you just don’t know what they meant and it is never on a computer, they do things by hand, writing it down because of security reasons, not backwardness. It is extremely easy to safeguard a paper file and almost impossible to do so with those made of ones and zeroes as we had seen in recent history when a low-level NSA employee like Edward Snowden can steal a memory disk of information and run away with it. ... (Taken from Code Name Moonlight but could have been from any GMJ Book, I explain the same in all of them – very few will read every GMJ Book, so I write them as if the explanation is needed everywhere, which it is).
You want this to end? Try professionalism in who you appoint to deal with your secrets. Act mercilessly against ALL leakers and reduce the number of access 1,000-fold. Use barium meals, do something and stop making silly excuses. It comes down to good and very easy investigations, there is nothing difficult nor new about this. Telling me that the Clinton Federal White Wash Bureau cannot get to the bottom of this is not an excuse easily acceptable to most and should not be. Then they are either as incompetent as I say they are in my books, sadly so, or they have ulterior motives, take your pick, it may even be both. Of course, this will never happen. You may expect the world to continue laughing at the leaks and guess what – next time a terrorist attack is not prevented – it is because you were not trusted with the information that could have prevented it. By my definition that makes the leaker and mainstream publisher guilty of terrorism. In case you still don’t understand, let me explain again - you cannot afford neutrality in counter terrorism nor leak what you were entrusted to by your friends, assets and intelligence. When you do, people will die because of your actions, it is that serious and shameful.
George M James is a pseudo name for the author and used for security reasons. He is an expert on counter-terrorism and counterinsurgency operations in sub-Saharan Africa, a military historian and published author of more than 50 books. In the GMJ Series, you will learn about Covert Operations, Special Forces techniques, current political analyses and military history not known outside the select few. Every GMJ Book is based on historical fact and often what is revealed in a GMJ Book is published by the mainstream media a short while later. Many of the GMJ Books are used as training material by Police Forces (SWAT) across the world. Note please that GMJ does not claim to have served in South African Army or Police Special Forces.Regarding my books - "I make up my opinions from facts and reasoning, and not to suit any body but myself. If people don't like my opinions, it makes little difference as I don't solicit their opinions or votes." William Tecumseh Sherman. I don’t write PC books, however, for what I have to say in my books, it was Martin Luther that stated: “I cannot and will not recant anything, for to go against conscience is neither right nor safe. Here I stand, I can do no other, so help me God. Amen.” And so it will be, GMJ
